The Zoku Loft XL

The focal point isn’t the bed, it’s the big kitchen table with four chairs. Work across time zones, host a dinner, or use it as the world’s most productive breakfast spot. Around it: a seating area with a Muuto couch and side table, gym rings if you want to sneak in a set of pull-ups between calls, and plenty of storage: wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, luggage storage, and a dedicated large storage space so you’re not living out of a suitcase after week one. Plenty of plugs throughout, both conventional and USB. In-room safe hidden in a drawer. Silent, smart ventilation that reacts to the room’s oxygen levels. The younger you will thank the older you.

The king-size bed (180 × 210 cm) sits on its own elevated level, fully separable from the living room via a retractable staircase and sliding screen, which means your 06:00 call doesn’t have to wake anyone up. 100% organic sheets and bedding, blackout curtains, a universal lightswitch that turns off every light in the Loft at once, and charging ports right where you need them. An extra flat pillow is included for tummy sleepers, because someone thought of that.

The Loft XL kitchen is the real thing: two-burner induction stove, built-in fridge with freezer, compact dishwasher, Siemens combination grill/microwave, Nespresso machine with capsules, and a full set of pots, pans, and utensils. Four sets of chinaware, cutlery, and glasses: including, worth repeating, four wine glasses. Basic cooking supplies (salt, pepper, olive oil) are stocked. A home starter kit with dishwasher tablets, trash bags, and cleaning supplies is ready to go. Fancy something more ambitious? The Pantry down the hall has a toaster, wok, rice cooker, and extra kitchen equipment available to borrow.

A high-pressure shower with floor-to-ceiling body mirror and Marie Stella Maris shampoo and body wash. Sliding doors separate the shower from the toilet and sink. Above and below the sink: generous storage for your things, plus a hairdryer, shaving/make-up mirror, and Marie Stella Maris hand soap. Fluffy Max Havelaar towels, a certified green brand. Retractable clothes line for drying laundry between washes. Dimmable lighting throughout, including a dimmer light at face height for the mirror.

A 4-person kitchen table and chairs double as the main workspace, alongside a small desk with stool for focused solo work. All Lofts include an analogue office kit: paper roll, stapler, scissors, tape dispenser, and pencils. (Sidekicks are available to explain any of these to younger residents.) Fast wireless internet, a 32-inch smart LED television, and IP calling to reach the team directly from your Loft.

Weekly cleaning comes as standard: once every seven nights, just like at home. Need it more often? Extra cleans are available free of charge. Express check-in and check-out via self-service kiosks on the rooftop, with automated billing by email. The Pantry on your floor stocks ironing supplies, a vacuum cleaner, extra kitchen utensils, and cleaning supplies. Baby cots available on request. On-site: launderette, changing room, locker room, and the (Almost) Everything Store for late-night essentials.
