There was a positive side-effect - this led me to co-found the Impact Hub Amsterdam
right after school, and co-shape the global Impact Hub Network
, which today covers 100+ capitals in the world. It is the largest ecosystem that inspires and supports social entrepreneurs and positive businesses along their growth trajectory from idea to impact.
There is no other place I'd rather be. In the last 2-3 years, I have checked-in at Zoku close to 10 times. It’s truly beautiful, smart, positive, and there is real integrity, it’s not just some good marketing trick. It’s a business that managed to align everything – but really everything - in a thoughtful and loving way.
What’s a life-changing book you’d like to recommend to others?
Impossible task to limit to one for somebody who continuously seeks to nourish her curiosity, but what comes to mind are “Leadership and the New Science” from Margaret Wheatley about looking at organisations from the perspective of quantum physics and “The Celestine Prophecy” by James Redfield, that I read when I was 14, and thought me to follow my intuition and trust in life.
Which book have you gifted the most, and why?
“Narcisse and Goldmund” from Herman Hesse, because it beautifully describes the paradoxes and contradictions of life, shedding a light on the cruelty and the beauty, the material and the spiritual.
What does home mean to you?
Home is where you can grow roots; it requires good soil and lots of sun.
