This can be a nightmare for elevator engineers to maintain, but it’s OK — we all have our ups and downs, after all.

Introducing in our first ever duo interview: Camille van Hemert is the HR Learning and Development coordinator at Rituals Cosmetics Enterprise B.V., and her colleague Lian Hommes, is the HR Learning and Development Business Partner at Rituals Cosmetics Enterprise B.V.. Camille, born and raised in Utrecht, is in her third year working for Rituals, where she is responsible for the international onboarding programming, the Rituals People Academy and overall people development. Meanwhile Lian is similarly responsible for developing the people and the organization of Rituals. Both are partners of Zoku Amsterdam and are extremely passionate about enjoying their work and lives to the fullest.
What is your relationship with Zoku Amsterdam, and what are your thoughts?
As Rituals is growing tremendously, we are always looking for inspirational breakout possibilities whether it is for lunch, meetings or events. We love to be surrounded by hard working people within an inspiring environment where we can develop (new) ideas/dreams for the company, which we have found at Zoku Amsterdam.

What’s a life-changing song, film, event or book you’d like to recommend to others?
The 'Wisdom in Business' Event. This event inspires visitors with the latest innovations, ancient techniques and natural wisdoms. This business event covers three themes: Conscious Leadership, The Power of Doing Good and Stress-free Organization’s – a really good combination of three hot topics that are in line with the philosophy of Rituals.

What advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
Fill up your backpack with memories, not stuff! Discover, be open to new ideas, explore the world and be inspired. Also: never stop learning and developing yourself.

What’s your current/newly discovered go-to product, service or app you would recommend to others and why?
Blinkist! Make the most of your downtime by exploring famous books/articles/TedX titles and absorbing big ideas from different schools of thought. Get key ideas and information from bestselling nonfiction distilled by experts into bitesize text and audio.

Which product have you gifted the most, and why?
Any product of Rituals of course… We are a true gifting brand: whether it’s giving something for an invigorating massage, warm bath or to create a homey atmosphere, giving products from Rituals always results in happiness on the faces of the ones we love and care about.

If you could pick one project to work on for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
InspiRituals; a re-occurring event where we invite internal and external speakers to share their story to inspire our employees to make conscious choices in their professional and personal lives. As it is our passion to develop our people and our organization, this is a project that we are super proud of.

What is one piece of advice or tip in your field of work that you want to give to people?
In order to grow, you need to step out of your comfort zone.

What does home mean to you?
For us, home is (and should be) a happy place – A place where you make memories, where you can dance silly - because nobody is watching - and where you can unwind. A place where you feel safe and where you always want to come back to.
