What path has your career taken?
I studied Industrial Engineering, worked for an American Oil company as an analyst and ended up staying for 8 years, then went on to a packaging company to become a General Manager in the UK. After a couple of years on a roller coaster, I decided it was time to come back to Amsterdam and start a business of my own. Seemed like fashion would be a good place to start as I felt the industry was moving in the complete wrong direction and was in need for some serious change.
How long have you stayed at Zoku, and what were your thoughts?
When Daniel and I started talking about the idea of starting Unrecorded we always used to meet up in Zoku. I believe Zoku had just opened its doors and we started treating it like our second home. I think we must have been there on a daily basis for a couple of months before we decided to hire an office. I believe there are two reasons I really enjoy being at Zoku and both are because the communal area is on the top floor. One is the light and the other is the fact that it feels homely because there isn’t a door opening the whole time with a draft coming in from the street (which most hotels have in their lobby)
Which book have you gifted the most, and why?
If you could pick one project to work on for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A carbon neutral wave pool in The Netherlands that makes better waves than Kelly’s one.
