Susanne van Maanen is a project leader and growth marketeer, and the founder of komm schon Alter, a dance initiative for 24-year olds and up. She was based at Zoku for a number of years, and sold her company last year.

What path has your career taken?

A total 180 to be honest! After I finished my growth hacking course last year, I felt it was time to have a more in depth dive into something new, preferably data driven. I used to be an entrepreneur  and I am now looking for interim projects where I can learn, grow and contribute as a project leader/marketeer.

What brought you/brings you to Amsterdam?

The fast paced, international character of Amsterdam is why I am in love with this city; Amsterdam really is the thriving heart of the Netherlands.

How long have you stayed at Zoku, and what were your thoughts?

I have been a Zoku member for a couple of years now which has been great fun, especially as new members and guests keeps changing/refreshing the atmosphere!

What’s a life-changing book, song, film or event you’d like to recommend to others?

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. In three words: Best book ever.

What advice would you give to your 20 year old self?

Stop giving such a fuck! No seriously, as a 20 year old you still battle with many insecurities as growing up is a challenge, but it’s one you must go through in order to understand adulthood.

What does home mean to you?

Everything. Warmth, hugs, good food, my sister, mom, dad and last but not least; the fluffy cat.
