Life doesn’t become more social than through sharing food. That’s our founding food philosophy. The food that comes out the Living Kitchen is fresh, simple, honest, healthy and local where possible. With short-end preparation times, simple ingredients and limited preparation steps, the assortment is intelligent, and service is fast. Reflecting the belief that we are what we eat, our kitchen aims to physically energize, appeal to the senses and nourish the soul. Our food is served on long communal tables – ideal for salt passing and idea swapping*.
The Chef’s main responsibility is to ensure that any food that comes out of the Living Kitchen is cooked well and presented in a beautiful way. All in line with Zoku’s food philosophy. Furthermore, you’ll be working closely together with the Head Chef and the rest of the kitchen team, each Chef runs the kitchen by him or herself during a shift. You will need to be a multitasking octopus, chatting with the residents and guests and managing the kitchen all at the same time.
We are looking for someone who really understands Zoku’s food philosophy and is a true food artist – also in the visual sense. Who loves plating beautiful dishes and who makes creative buffets that not only look good, but also taste amazing. As you are cooking in an open, residential kitchen we need someone who loves chatting to the guests, while cooking up a storm.
We will be opening our second location in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2020. Located just five minutes from the city center by metro, Zoku Copenhagen will be situated on the vibrant Amager island, with easy access to many points of interest. It will accommodate 160 Zoku Lofts – our biggest Zoku yet!
The Chef forms a close team with the Head Chef, other Chefs, F&B Sidekick and Kitchen Helper and reports directly to the Head Chef.
* Please note we have temporarily altered our concept due to the current Covid-19 situation, however we will always make sure it remains “Zoku” where connecting to our residents is still one of our main features.Apply here
Next to cooking up a storm and plating dishes that taste amazing & look beautiful, this position also focuses on other areas within the Living Kitchen:

If we loved your application, we will invite you to come to our Recruitment Day, so please check if you’re available on September 1st and September 2nd (we wouldn’t want to miss you!)
2. Personal Interviews – September 3rd and September 4th
After Recruitment Day, Personal Interviews will take place on September 3rd and September 4th
3. Working at Zoku
Will you join the team? How exciting, we can’t wait! We are planning to start the Zoku Bootcamp (2 training weeks) between November 1st and November 30th, depending on our final opening date. We are planning to open Zoku’s door on December 1st – fingers crossed.
A place you can call a second home, even on your first visit.
So much more than a long stay hotel. It’s a neighborhood.
Where the neighbors borrow more than a cup of sugar.
They share ideas and ambitions.
They mix the local lowdown with the global highlights.
Where the word on the street keeps you streets ahead.
For this is a ‘good company’ company where everyone can bring their dreams to the table.
Where those busy connecting the world can catch up with each other and the scene surrounding them.
Smart and uncompromising, Zoku is a hive of smart lofts and friendly spaces, designed so you can stay connected, well rested and throw yourself into your work, your play and our city.
This is a place that is furnished to fit, not to split.
Encouraging each other to live, not exist.
To dream, not sleep.
To smarten up, rather than dumb down.
To go at it together, rather than alone.
Together we can work hard, play strong and rest easy.
Whilst we blur borders, combine cultures and live our dreams.
